When you ask for a refund, we may ask you for some personal information. This is to make sure you’re eligible for a refund and to contact you if we need more details, like a copy of your credit card statement.

We emailed you a copy of your receipt with the receipt number when you applied.
If you don’t have that email, you can get your receipt number by signing in to the account you used to apply and checking your submission confirmation under messages.

If you didn’t pay online or at a bank in Canada and didn’t submit your application, you have to go back to the bank where you made your payment to ask them for a refund.
For example, if you planned to use a money order to pay for your application but decided not to apply, you have to go back to the bank that issued the money order to get a refund.
