By utilizing the Email Notification feature within the MEGApix® IP Camera interface, Administrators can configure the camera to send an email to a specified email address when a set alarm event triggers. This article will outline how to set up the Email Notifications feature within a MEGApix® IP camera. **Note: The DW Spectrum® IPVMS platform and VMAX Standalone Units also feature an Email Notification feature. This article focuses on the MEGApix® IP camera only. Images within this article may display differently from your camera – we will be using the DWC-MTT4Wi28 camera.
The MEGApix® IP Camera Series does not have its own email service to send outgoing emails. In order for the camera to send notifications by email, an SMTP email service will need to be provided.
To set up outgoing email settings, you must know the SMTP server information of your email provider.
